Kavos lies at Corfu's southern tip and is the island's main party resort, packed with bars, clubs and a long sandy beach. It's very lively in high season and best suited to younger travellers seeking a social, energetic scene rather than a quiet or cultural stay.
The resort centres on a main strip of bars and clubs running parallel to a wide sandy beach, with everything geared toward late nights and days by the sea. Daytime is relaxed and beach-focused, but from evening onward the strip becomes loud and crowded through the summer.
Getting around
Kavos is at the far south of the island, well over an hour by road from Corfu Town and the Old Fortress, and a similar drive from the airport (CFU); buses and taxis serve it, but distances are significant. Once there, the resort itself is compact and walkable.

Before you book this area
- Nightlife
- Corfu's most concentrated bar and club scene, very much the reason people come.
- Season
- Lively in summer but largely shuts down outside the high season.
- Watch out for
- Noise levels are high near the strip, so it's not a fit for families or quiet-seekers.
Frequently asked
Is Kavos suitable for families?
Generally not — it's built around nightlife and can be very loud at night, so families usually prefer the calmer bays further north.
How far is Kavos from Corfu Town?
It's at the southern end of the island, over an hour's drive, so it's a poor base if you want frequent trips into the historic centre.
